July Tbr

I’m back with another TBR that I probably won’t follow, but I have so much fun planning what I will read next so I will always do these monthly wrap ups (even if I only end up reading one of two books off it).

For July I plan on reading

  • Prisoner of Ice and Snow by Ruth Lauren

This book is about 290 pages and has gotten so many good reviews lately, so I cannot wait to start.

  • They Both Die In the End by Adam Silvera

Anyone else feel like the ending of this book has already been given away??? I have a small feeling that I might find myself crying at the end of this book, but who knows.

  • Harry Potter 4 by J.K Rowling

I know, I know, I’ve been meaning to read this book forever now. I WILL GET IT DONE, eventually.

  • Harry Potter 5 by J. K Rowling

Why try to finish one HP book when you can try and read two in the month of July?

and if all goes well (#fingerscrossed) I hope to also get a start on the Raven Boys, although i don’t think I’ll be able to get it completely finished by the end of the month.

WHat are your reading plans for this month?

Until next time,

June TBR

Is it possible for nearly every book from my May tbr to be on this list too???

I’ve actually already finished one book on my June TBR and that would be The Cellar by Natasha Preston (a review is coming soon.) Which I read on Wattpad, although it is also a published novel.

But to the rest of my list.

First I must finish Updrift by Errin Stevens! I am liking this book, but it takes soooooo long to read… although I’m sure I would finish it faster if I just picked it up hehe.

As for the other books

  • Harry Potter #4 by J.K Rowling

This is my first time reading this series and because of the small writing of all of them, I’m not really up to marathon reading them all. I’m just taking it slowly, one book at a time. Although, I really want to get them all done by the end of the year #fingerscrossed

  • The Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater

Although, if I don’t like the first one, I probably won’t go onto the second one. Finger’s crossed the library actually has them all, I checked a while ago so I’m pretty sure they do.

  • And maybe another reread of A Court Of Wings and Ruin

I just got the hardcover for ACOWAR (it’s my first hardcover and it is gorgeous!) I just keep looking at it on my shelf and it is calling out to me to read it! I’ll probably reading it before I finish Updrift. Really depends on how long I drag out the Updrift read. Like it is a really good book, I’m just never in the mood for it.

Ahhhh, Seven books on my tbr! Luckily I am on holidays for the last week of June so hopefully I can get heaps read then.

May Wrap Up

Oh snap,

This month did not go as planned (oops).

That’s all good though because I am still 11 books ahead of my goodread’s challenge so all is well in the world.

So what did I read this month???

Pretty much none of what was on my May tbr, ouch!

The first read of May was Poison Study by Maria v. Snyder, and I really found this book enjoyable. I would 100% read it again as it was so simple. With that said, I only gave this book a 3 and a half (Or maybe it was four) because it did feel as if it was lacking something. There were no real major events throughout the book, nothing that made be go ‘OH my god, oh my god, must read more.’

I am interested in reading the rest of this series, but it might be a while before I get around to it.

Next up was Goodnight, Boy by Nikki Sheehan, which I found to be alright. I gave this book three stars. It was certainly easy to read because of the writing style, but maybe to easy? (Like easy enough for it to physically pain my brain reading it.)

Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch kind of feels like a cheat putting it on here. Because as much as I did read it, I spent the majority of the read trying to annotate the book. So I was focusing more on making witty comments then the content. It was fun though, to do it, I think if you have a book you have read before and want to annotate it, to go for it!

Oh yeah, I remember what happened at this point in the month. I wasn’t an all too happy mood, so I needed to cheer myself up in the only way I knew. To read The Selection by Kiera Cass. It’s my go to happy book. Seriously, the day I decided to read this book started with me looking at my bookshelf and going ‘assassin, war, assassin, ehhh, character I love dies, revenge of the century.’ Honestly, I need some more happy books on my shelves.

Then came Laurinda by Alice Pung, which is probably my favourite school book I have ever had to read. Although the essay I have to write on it is not necessarily my favourite thing right now, haha.

A COURT OF WINGS AND RUIN BY SARAH J MAAS! I read this book twice this month, and I think the first time was actually before Laurinda. I believe it went the selection, acowar, updrift and laurinda, finish laurinda, pause updrift, reread acowar.

It is just so good! I loved it more that a court of mist and fury although it is a very close call. I think I just found the characters to be more of a family. Not just with each other but with me as well. Aweeee isn’t that sweet hahaha. I found myself connecting a lot more with the characters.

As I said, I was reading Updrift, but have not finished it yet. So I guess that will become a goal for next month, we shall see.

Finally was Little Woman, but the version I read was an adaption of it made for younger readers. It took me about two hours to read but I would be really interested in reading the full length novel. Especially so I can connect more with the characters. It was a bit hard to remember which March sister was who.

What was I going on about, I read eight books! Holy! I think I just expected to actually follow my May Tbr and finish the snow like ashes trilogy and harry potter 4. But they can be saved for next month.

What did you read this month???

Until next time

Hey Hey Hey

Last month I did get a bit of reading done (because it was the holidays) but this month I don’t expect very much because I am determined to step it up with school work (with that said, I am already getting A’s) and exercise.

But let’s move on to my Tbr for May.

A Court Of Wings and Ruin [Sarah J Maas]: I really wish I preordered this book, because so many people have already received their copies. And because I am literally in the middle of nowhere, I will have to wait even longer to be able to go to the shops and get it. #nospoilersnofunerals

Harry Potter 4 [J.K Rowling]: This is my next challenge for the #tackleyourlibrarychallenge2017 and it is the over 500 pages one, I believe.

The Snow Like Ashes Trilogy [Sara Raasch]: because I listened to the audiobook of the first one and LOVED it!

And that is all for this month! What are you planning on reading.

Until next time,

April TBR

I honestly cannot believe that it is April!

For the first two weeks of April, I am on school holidays! No, I’m not going anywhere (that I’m aware of haha) but I do have to work a little bit and my older sister is coming home!!!! But seeing I don’t have school, I do have some high hopes for my reading this month, also considering the first two weeks back at school I will have study periods and nothing to study so I can get more reading done, yay!!!!

So what do I plan on reading this month???

First I am aiming to finish Descendants [Rae Else], I don’t have much of it left seeing I started it the last day of March and it’s only 210 pages. I will probably we able to get it done today!

Once that is done, I am planning on reading Air and Ash [Alex Lidell]. This is the first of two books (I’m pretty sure it is two at least). I read a prequel novella for this series in March and fell in love. It was so beautifully written and I cannot wait to dive back into the world. This book comes out in May and myself along with some other bookstagramers have teamed up with the author and there might just be a giveaway in the works!

I have also joined a ACOTAR/MAF reread [Sarah J Maas] (in preparation for A Court Of Wings And Ruin), I am joining @chapter.chat on Instagram, which basically has sorted everyone who wants to participate into groups where we can discuss as we read along. And as far as my memory serves, I’m pretty sure it’s around three chapters a day. So please join in, you can either be rereading it or reading for the first time J

^Also on the ACOTAR/MAF note, if you are reading it for the first time or rereading it, please feel free to message me on Instagram @_queenofthebooks_ I am always open to discussing any books and chatting about our favourite characters and plot predictions (as well as anything else in general)^

Normally, I would only set a month goal of 4 books… but seeing I hope to have more time to read this month, I am also going to add in Harry Potter #3 & #4 [J.K Rowling]. I’m pretty sure number 4 is part of my #tackleyourlibrary2017 challenge… and I sort of need to read the third one to get to the fourth haha.

That’s it! Hopefully I can read six books, fingers crossed!

What else do I plan to do this month?

Camp Nanowrimo!

Yep, I have joined camp nanowrimo in hope of finishing the book I am writing called Dieheart.

And while on holidays I hope to take heaps of photos for bookstagram (hopefully enough to last the next term of school, so I won’t have to stress to much)

I also plan on writing some more blog post which will then come out over the next term at school. If you have any ideas, tags, or things you want to see/read about, let me know and I will get right onto it!

A couple of things to look out for this month

  • As mentioned earlier, they may be a giveaway coming soon on bookstagram including Air and Ash [Alex Lidell] as far as I am aware it will be happening (but please don’t take my word as 100% true because I am not entirely sure about all the details or when it will be happening}
  • Kieran Scott is releasing Pretty Fierce on the fourth of this month, so make sure to watch out for it, (you can see my review here), and guess what!!! I actually am part of a blog tour!!! What? I know, I actually almost died when I found out. So because of that, a couple of days after the release, I will get to post an Q&A with Kieran Scott! (Hopefully the questions I asked are ones you like, also here might be a giveaway as part of that (once again not entirely sure, but be on the watch))

Okay, I think I am now done.

What are you planning on reading this month? Are you reading the ACOTAR series?? Also what are your monthly happenings???

Until next time,

March Tbr

Hello and welcome back,

To another post written at midnight*I thought I had written this but clearly, I had not. But I’m here now and I am sort of kinda ready to tell you what I want to read this month.

*so please ignore my terrible spelling and grammar, I’m sorry

26802894Truthwitch [Susan Dennard]

In a continent on the edge of war, two witches hold its fate in their hands.
Young witches Safiya and Iseult have a habit of finding trouble. After clashing with a powerful Guildmaster and his ruthless Bloodwitch bodyguard, the friends are forced to flee their home.
Safi must avoid capture at all costs as she’s a rare Truthwitch, able to discern truth from lies. Many would kill for her magic, so Safi must keep it hidden – lest she be used in the struggle between empires. And Iseult’s true powers are hidden even from herself.
With war coming, treaties breaking and a magical contagion sweeping the land, the friends will have to fight emperors and mercenaries alike. For some will stop at nothing to get their hands on a Truthwitch.

This is the fourth book in my #tackleyourlibrarychallenge2017 challenge, which is for a cover I am not entirely fond of…. I mean what can I say, I prefer the US one a hell of a lot better.

Windwitch [Susan Dennard]

Why have one of this series on your #tackleyourlibrarychallenge2017 when you can have two? Windwitch is for the ‘outside scenery on cover’

I do like this Uk/Aus cover a lot more that the Truthwitch cover, but it doesn’t exactly matter for this one as long as I read it!

I won’t put a summary on here because I want to be surprised myself (plus spoilers probably)

Crooked Kingdoms [Leigh Bardugo]

The second book in the Six of Crows duology is one I started last month but wasn’t really in the mood to read… fingers crossed I can get into it this month!

a30226723nd last but not least
King’s Cage
[Victoria Aveyard]

I’ve heard of a few mixed reviews for the third book in this series, so hopefully I like it (and hopefully it arrives because it didn’t last month)

I am actually really excited to read this one, especially with the ending of the last one, I just hope it’s good!!!

What are you planning on reading this month? Have you read any of these books… what did you think of them???

Until next time,

February Tbr

Hey Book Nation,

it’s that time again to decided what books I hope to read this month. Some books I was hoping to read last month but didn’t end up finishing and others I’m not entirely sure I will get to. But either way, here they are:

Magic Mirabelle and the Riddle of the Night Opium [Manfred]

I was hoping to have this book finished by the end of January but that didn’t end up happening because school and life got in the road. I’m about a third of the way through and it is the next book I will be finishing.

The Crown’s Game [Evelyn Skye]

I also brought this book last month and I am so excited to read this one. There has been so much talk about this book and the second one is coming out later this year.

Vika Andreyeva can summon the snow and turn ash into gold. Nikolai Karimov can see through walls and conjure bridges out of thin air. They are enchanters—the only two in Russia—and with the Ottoman Empire and the Kazakhs threatening, the tsar needs a powerful enchanter by his side.

And so he initiates the Crown’s Game, an ancient duel of magical skill—the greatest test an enchanter will ever know. The victor becomes the Imperial Enchanter and the tsar’s most respected adviser. The defeated is sentenced to death.

1.jpgPoison City [Paul Crilley]

I’ve had this book on my shelf for months now and I figured it was time to get around to it. This book is also for the 2017 Reading Challenge: #tackleyourlibrarychallenge2017 number 3!

I’ve tried to read this book before but never really got past the first three pages. But i plan on finishing this month.

The name’s Gideon Tau, but everyone just calls me London. I work for the Delphic Division, the occult investigative unit of the South African Police Service. My life revolves around two things – finding out who killed my daughter and imagining what I’m going to do to the bastard when I catch him.

1.jpgKing’s Cage [Victoria Aveyard]

I’ve preordered this book so it is on it’s way. After Magic Mirabelle I will probably read this one. I need to know what happens #freemare! This is the third book in the series and I believe it’s release is the 7th of February

With school I’m not really sure if I will be able to read more than four, but we will soon find out!

what are you planning on reading?

Until next time,
